Waterford Public Golf Course - Venice Florida Golf Vacation
Play a game of golf at one of the best in Venice
Waterford Golf Club is definitely a favorite of regular golfers with varying abilities. Known for receiving the best of Venice award in 2004 and listed in the Top 20 golf courses in the southwestern region of Florida, Waterford offers 27 holes of rippling greens and rolling fairways, with plenty of hazards and water in play throughout the course. Three 9- hole golf courses are available, the Turnberry, Gleneagles, or Sawgrass courses, for a combination of three different 18-hole games. This gives visitors the opportunity to come back throughout the week and try a totally new game at the same beautiful course.
The golf courses were not the only part of Waterford Golf Club to receive a Best in Venice for 2004. The pro shop also received an award for the Best place to buy golf equipment and supplies, so hit up the pro shop for all of your golf needs before taking to the courses. Waterford also offers a beautiful clubhouse restaurant open from 7:30-3 pm with a nice selection of food and beverages to keep you going during an invigorating game of golf.
One of the best features of Waterford is the option to play only 9-holes of golf at one of the courses for a reduced rate. This option is limited to after 3pm during the high season from January to April, but is always available throughout the rest of the year. Golf prices are very reasonable at $50 for 18 holes between January and April and $18-$25 for the rest of the year.
Open seven days a week from 7 am to 6 pm, the club is semi-private but allows visitors and guests with reservations made ahead of time. Tee times are taken no more than four days in advance for guests and can be made by calling 941-484-6621.
You can find the Waterford Golf Club right in the heart of Venice. Take Venice Ave. E away from Venice Beach and turn left onto Capri Isles Blvd. Pass through the area for Capri Isles Golf Club and you will come to Glen Eagle Drive immediately after the main intersection at Edmondson Road.
