Venice Florida Airport is Venice Municipal Airport.  Visit Venice Florida  by flying on your own plane or a chartered plane to the area.  Although there are several larger airports in the area, the Venice Municipal Airport is 2 miles away from downtown Venice and sits nearby the Gulf of Mexico, right by Harbor Drive, the main road going through Venice. You won’t find commercial flights leaving and returning to this airport, which makes navigating your own plane a bit easier. The airport includes 2 runways, on 835 acres of land with precision weather tracking, and medium grade lighting from dusk until dawn.

Venice Municipal Airport is open to the public and although there is no control tower, you can call the administration offices to discuss your arrival at 941-486-2711. The closest flight service station is in St. Petersburg, 20 miles away, and can be reached at 866-295-3983.

Once you arrive there are a variety of hangars and tiedowns available, although only for temporary shelter. For those who regularly house their planes here, there are only 235 spots available and there is a waiting list of 80 more looking for plane accommodations. The two main aviation services on site at the airport include Florida Flight Maintenance and Triple Diamond Jet. Both offer full fuel services with 100LL Jet-A fuel, plane parking, a passenger terminal and lounge area, plane rentals, and can also offer assistance with car rentals or transportation once you arrive in Venice. For ground transportation, there are a variety of options available. The only rental car service on site is Hertz and reservations can be made at 800-654-3131 or online at www.hertz.com. Taxi and Limousine services throughout Venice include:

Once you arrive, you will be located on Airport Ave, which is on the south end of the city of Venice. The easiest way to navigate through Venice is to turn left out of Airport Ave. and find Harbor Drive, which extends north and south along the coastline. If you are looking for anything outside of Venice, take Harbor Drive to Venice Ave. and proceed east. This will connect you with Tamiami Trail/US-41, which goes along the coastline north to Tampa and Sarasota and south to Ft. Myers.
