Ophelia’s on the Bay-Ophelia’s is an absolute treat and a real find with dining so close to the water I almost forgot where I was during the dining experience. The outdoor seating is called the dockside open-air patio and they mean every word of it. Ophelia’s offers an unobstructed, peaceful view of Little Sarasota Bay with an excellent wine selection and magnificent food ranging from seafood, American, Asian or Italian. If you aren’t up for sitting so close to the water’s edge, try the two glass enclosed dining rooms that still offer the same marvelous view of the Little Sarasota Bay. The best part about dining at Ophelia’s is you feel like you are surrounded by nature, with glints of flower gardens encircling your view of the water. This charming restaurant is located on Siesta Key island and can be reached from Venice by taking US-41 north to Stickney Point Road and then following this south for approximately 3 miles. There is also a place to dock your boat near Ophelia’s so feel free to come from the Intracoastal Waterway and stop in for a lovely sunset dinner.
