This premier property has 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths, including 2 full master suites. In addition, 3 of the 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor have direct deck access, which is handy for catching the sunrise or making one last wish on the many stars in the beach sky. In total, the house can comfortably accommodate 17.
We consider La Dolce Vita to be our 2nd home and like to make it as comfortable and as conducive for entertaining as possible. Our wide selection of games, books and our extensive video collection will keep your family well entertained. We are constantly thinking of new ideas that we incorporate into our annual upgrades to the property. So each year when you return, you can be sure that we’ll be a little better than the year before.
For those evenings when you want to dine in, we have the kitchen to allow your creative spirit to soar. Chefs need quality tools and we have what you will need to reach new heights of culinary excellence. My parents, who are former caterers, were in charge of stocking the kitchen, so we have everything from multiple toasters, waffle irons, food processors and ice cream makers to pasta pots and garlic presses. The 2 dishwashers make cleanup a breeze. In addition, the very large kitchen is open to the dining and various living areas of the great room, which occupy the entire third floor of the house, so the cooks always remain part of the party. The house also features a large park-style grill, for preparing that fresh catch-of-the-day or hot dogs for the kids.
We are a baby friendly house, equipped with baby gate, porta-crib, high chair, booster chair, bath seat and baby bathtub. In addition, we have some other little niceties: baskets to wash bottle paraphernalia in dishwasher, baby spoons, kiddie dinnerware, etc. In addition, the property has a private playground, to help little ones run off that last bit of energy before a nap or allow bigger kids with a place to play before dinner.
The ground floor rec room features a full size frig, digital cable and TV/VCR and Stereo with tuner/CD. We also have a Rene Pierre foosball table to the rec room. Just outside the sliders is the patio and private, heated pool.
New beach access boardwalks and steps to the beach make for an easy walk to the beach for everyone in the family. We have an ideal location for kids and grandparent alike, since we are not only semi-oceanfront, but also have beach access in directly in front of the house. This is an important consideration when renting a semi-oceanfront property. For example, there are many semi-oceanfront properties in Whalehead that require a half a block walk just to get to the closest beach access. In addition, the ground floor bath gives you quick access from the beach. We also have tennis courts in the development 1 block away.
The developments in Ocean Sands were well planned with lots of permanent open space maintaining natural vegetation. Beaches are very wide and have soft sand. What I like best about Section F in particular is that the development is smaller than most others and does not allow off-street parking. This means even in high season, the beaches are not crowded. There always is room for volleyball or an expansive sand castle.

Activities and Attractions
10 minutes north is Old Corolla and the Currituck Beach lighthouse. Old Corolla is a great place for a relaxing walk and a fantastic photo opportunity from the top of the lighthouse. 15 minutes north and you are on the Four-Wheel drive beaches. Beach extends for about 15 miles to the VA border. No streets but lots of four-wheel access only development (If you really want seclusion). If you don’t have the wheels for it, there are several local companies that will take you on a tour. We also have wild ponies in Corolla. We’ve only seen them outside of the 4-wheel drive area twice. Both times were near Corolla Landscaping, where I’ve been told they like to snack.

There are also lots of opportunities for fishing (surf and deep sea), hiking, windsurfing, hang gliding and golf. There are 5 courses in the area, with our development across the road from the Currituck Club. This Rees Jones designed course, which Golf Digest ranked in the top 25 courses in the nation, conjures up comparisons to Pebble Beach, as well as the best features of the classic British Open courses.
