A short drive to the north is Sarasota where you will find the Ringling Museum of Art, Circus Museum, Ringling Mansion, Mote Marine Aquarium, Pelican Man Bird Sanctuary, and Marie Selby Botanical Gardens. Tampa/St. Pete is about an hour to the north, and Fort Myers an hour to the south. The Orlando attractions are 2 hours' drive. You are close to everything in a quiet, charming town without the overwhelming traffic of many Florida destinations.
