Seahorse Shores is a very clean and tastefully decorated duplex in a lovely landscaped setting featuring many flowering plants and tropical trees. It is an ideal vacation retreat and has been completely remodeled to deliver a high level of comfort and amenities.
We have been proudly serving guests since 2001. Our guests return again and again to enjoy our clean, quiet, safe and comfortable accomodations in a great location. You are just a 10 minute walk to Nokomis Beach, 1/2 mile away on Casey Key. Nokomis Beach is one of the nicest beaches in Florida. There are no high rises and the buildings are set back from the dunes. Casey Key has the highest concentration of nesting sea turtles of any U.S. beach on the Gulf of Mexico.

Why my place is great for a pet?
Seahorse Shores villas are pet comfortable. Easy care tile floors, few breakables, and a huge yard means our pets are as comfortable as us.
Neighborhood sidewalks make it easy and safe to take Fido for a walk any time of the day.
The famous dog beach at Brohard Paw Park is just a 15 minute drive away.
Activities and Attractions
UNIQUE AND FUN THINGS TO DO IN THIS TROPICAL PARADISE:
We provide a great guest binder in the villa with information about activities and with menus from the excellent local restaurants.
- Visit the world famous Venice Audubon Rookery where herons, egrets and other birds nest. 8 miles away, free. Peak Season is Winter/Spring.

- Scuba Dive off of Venice Beach for fossil sharks' teeth including huge Megalodon teeth. You can go right in from the shore. 4 miles away. Or go out on a charter boat that will put you right on the best spots. You can also get quickly certified and do your training dives right from the beach where the sharks' teeth are. Visibility is best in April, May & June but divers go year round.

-- Enjoy the drum circles at Nokomis Beach every Wednesday and Saturday 1 hour before Sunset. 1/2 mile away.

-- Go Kayaking. Take a tour, a class, rent a kayak or go to a free kayak demonstration day to try paddling many models for free.

-- Visit Myakka River State Park and walk thru the tree tops on one of the world's few canopy walks. Enjoy a tour on the world's largest airboat for an up close view of alligators and other wildlife ($10) 20 miles away. Admission to the Park is $5 per carload.

-- Ride a bicycle or walk along our newly completed trails: the Venetian Waterway Park in Venice (10 miles of paved trail along the intercoastal waterway) and the 12 Mile Legacy Trial from Venice to Sarasota. A trailhead is less than 2 miles away.

-- Great Fishing and Golfing is plentiful and well known to those who enjoy those sports.
-- See the threatened Florida Scrub Jay in the wild at Oscar Scherer State Park, just 3 1/2 miles away. You are virtually guaranteed to see them if you go on the ranger led nature walk at 8:30am Sundays January thru March. Other walks at 8am Thursdays and 8:30am Fridays. Guided canoe tours Wednesdays at 8:30am.

-- Take a unique 90 minute tour of Venice waterways and streets in ''Just Ducky'', an amphibious vehicle. 2 miles away. It's a boat tour and land tour in one.

Walk to Beach
Seahorse Shores is ideally located 1/2 mile from Nokomis Beach (just off of Exit 200 on Interstate 75 - the place where I-75 is closest to the Gulf Beaches)
Recent improvements to the neighborhood include sidewalks. Walking or biking to the beach is easier and safer than ever! It's a lovely 10 minute walk - a stop on the bridge above the Intercoastal Waterway is a must.
Nokomis Beach is a super public beach with no large condominium developments or highrise hotels in view. There are shaded picnic areas, lifeguard stands, bath and changing facilities, a concession stand, and free public parking at Nokomis Beach. Sea turtles nest on this beach May to October.
A tad further south on Casey Key is North Jetty Park, a favorite fishing spot for local anglers and a great place to watch the sun set over the Gulf of Mexico. North Jetty Park has free parking, lifeguard stands, concessions, volleyball courts, shaded picnic areas, and showers/restrooms. It is one of the better surfing spots on the Gulf Coast.
