Dolphins Dance is a lovely gulf view townhouse in the Barrier Dunes community on Cape San Blas. It has a gulf view front balcony and two large back decks which are very private and back on a small lake. There is room to park 3 cars here, or 2 cars and a boat. Dolphins Dance has everything, including beach chairs, umbrella and toys for you to enjoy a wonderful vacation with your companions.

Dolphins Dance is beautifully furnished and chocked full of amenities. This is my home away from home, and I've made sure it has everything people need for a super vacation. Downstairs you'll find a living room, complete with a 32 inch TV with digital cable, VCR and DVD player. There are also some movies and books for you to enjoy. The living room has a pull out queen sleeper sofa. The dining room has a lovely table that seats six. There is also a breakfast bar. The kitchen is of course fully equipped. Off the living room is a large private deck that is partly protected from the rain. Upstairs you will find two large bedrooms, both equipped with a queen size bed, night tables and a small TV and VCR. Off one bedroom is a gulf view balcony and off the other is a large deck overlooking the lake.

Barrier Dunes is a small cozy townhouse community situated right on the beach. All the people here are owners like myself, or guests like yourself. People are friendly and helpful. The community is gated for security. It has two pools, one right on the beach, and the other by the lighted tennis courts. The one by the tennis courts is now heated! There is also a children's playground. You can walk around the entire community in 5 minutes.

Barrier Dunes is situated about half way along the Cape. It is about 1000 feet from the entrance to St. Joe's Peninsula State Park, which takes up the last 7 miles of the Cape. This park is full of opportunities to hike, birdwatch, view nature, picnic, and of course enjoy the totally unspoiled beach with your pets. Many people rent bicycles and explore right to the end of the Cape.

The beach of course is great, but the back bay is fantastic too. It is full of wildlife from turtles, to birds to marine mammals. It is superb for canoing or kayaking and snorkeling. Canoe, kayak, bicycle and snorkeling equipment are available right on the Cape. The Cape also has basic groceries and restaurants, one of which is a short walk away at the entrance to Barrier Dunes, and we are only about a 20 minute drive away from the lovely towns of Port St. Joe to the west and Apalachicola to the east where you will find everything you need to purchase for your vacation, including a good selection of pet foods and treats!

Why my place is great for a pet?
The BEACH! Cape San Blas beach has been ranked the #1 Dog Friendly Beach in the USA in 2006. Here your dogs are always welcome and can play in the sand and the surf as much as they want. The beach is beautiful white sand that is not going to hurt their feet or yours when you play frisibee or fetch on the beach. It's not crowded either, so you'll have plenty of room to have fun!

The area of Cape San Blas and the towns of Port St. Joe and Apalachicola are well accustomed to people traveling with dogs. The area is full of activity opportunities, many of which dogs in particular may enjoy - hiking in the woods and on the beach, canoing, fishing excursions, accompanying their people while they ride horses on the beach to name a few.

Dolphins Dance is in the small pet friendly community of Barrier Dunes, where people understand and welcome dogs. They even have pet stations distributed throughout the area.

What about cats? You can take cats to the beach and with you on hikes to explore the area, but I'd recommend you find secluded spots and keep a leash or harness on your pet. Cats can get spooked and run off and can be hard to find. Cats love sleeping and the sun. Dolphins Dance has a great sunny comfy window seat for cats to enjoy. Dolphins Dance also backs on a lake, so the back decks are completely private and of course sunny. A walk on the shore of the lake is a great opportunity to sniff the air and eat grass!

Your pets are happiest when they are with you, so why not bring them to Dolphins Dance!

Activities and Attractions
St. Joe Peninsula State Park - only about 1000 feet away - hiking, birdwatching, nature viewing, totally unspoiled pristine beach.

Panama City is only about a 50 minute drive away.
